Gregory Gentry, RFC, CEP
Meet Gregory (Greg) Gentry
In addition to over forty years of experience in the financial services and estate planning industry, some of Greg's professional designations include Certified Estate Planner (CEP®) and the esteemed Registered Financial Consultant (RFC®) designation through the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC®), a worldwide network of highly trained financial professionals. These designations required extensive study, passing comprehensive exams in taxation, investments, insurance, estate, trust and retirement planning, as well as annual continuing education requirements. Greg has held a securities license since 1982 and is an Independent Licensed Insurance Representative focusing on estate planning products. Being independent has allowed Greg to work for his clients and not a company. Greg attended Ohio University and completed the College for Financial Planning Advanced Estate Planning and Trust course.
Greg entered the Financial Services field in 1981, and in 1989, became a National Sales Director of a large National Financial Services Company. In 1992, Greg formed the well-known firm, First City Estate Planning, Inc., that concentrated on estate preservation which served all of Ohio and West Virginia and parts of Pennsylvania. In early 2002, Greg dissolved his ownership interest in First City Estate Planning Inc. to form a more personal, family estate planning practice, Gregory Gentry & Associates, LLC.
Greg is a published author and is a regular information source for local news and newspapers as well as many attorneys, and estate and tax planners because of his innovative estate planning concepts. Two of Greg’s sons, Christian and Bradley are advisors and work in the firm managing different areas of the practice.
Greg has been very active with the Boy Scouts of America for over 40 years, is President Emeritus of the Allohak Council and currently serves on Muskingum Valley Council’s executive board. Greg is a proud Eagle Scout and has three Eagle Scout sons. He serves on the Campus Martius and Ohio River Museum boards of directors and enjoys a love of history. Greg has supported youth organizations and his community all his adult life and was recently inducted into the Honorable Kentucky Colonels, recognizing his years of charitable work. Greg and his wife, Amy, their 5 children, and 9 grandchildren live in Marietta, Ohio.
